The coating most often used is high-gloss Hydrocoat 100 Polyester. The reverse side coating is normally a clear lacquer, which has been designed for use with the types of adhesive and foams. The coating may be used in the construction of insulated vehicle sides or where the aluminium is bonded, for example to plywood for trailer or container doors.
The Hydrocoat
In these cases, however, care should be taken to ensure that the Hydrocoat lacquer is compatible with the specific foam or adhesive to be used in practice. Samples can normally be provided for these evaluations.
The reverse coating also acts as a protector to the front coating, reducing the risk of pressure and metal marking, and as a lubricant in the forming process.
