In Malaysia, Hydro is present with rolled products operations. The company has about 260 employees in the country.

The aluminium foil plant in Pasir Gudang started commercial production in 1985 and was taken over by Hydro, through the acquisition of VAW aluminium AG, in 2002.

The plant’s product range includes high value-added thin converter foil and finstock. Not only is the plant one of the largest aluminium foil producers in Malaysia, it is one of the largest in the entire Asia-Pacific region.

How to get there:

By airplane
Our plant can be reached from the following 2 airports:
- Changi airport in Singapore: 70 kms. – about 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours by car (see below)
- Senai aiport in Johor Bahru: Can be reached by domestic flights via KLIA airport in Kuala Lumpur. Flight time is about 1 hour. From Senai airport, you can reach the plant by taxi within 1 hour.

By train
Johor Bahru can be reached by train within 6 hours coming from Kuala Lumpur (central) or within 45 minutes coming from Singapore (Tanjong Pagar). From Johor Bahru, it will take you 1 hour to reach the plant by car.

By car
Coming from Singapore, take the seafront road (Jalan Straits View, Jalan Skudai) until Pasir Gudang Highway. From there, it takes you about 45 minutes to reach the plant.

From Kuala Lumpur you can reach the plant by car within 4 to 5 hours. Take the North-South-Highway. You will pass the toll-gates "Skudai" and "Kempas" before you will see a signpost "turn left to Pasir Gudang". From here, you can reach Pasir Gudang in about 45 minutes.
