Hydro presents the entire value chain when producing aluminium. From refining bauxite and generating its own electrical power, to producing primary aluminium and manufacturing products such as casthouse products, building systems, extrusions, rolled products, and automotive and transport.

In Belgium, Hydro is present with aluminium extrusion and building systems operations, and as a supplier of precision tubing products. Hydro also has a representative office in Brussels. In all, the company has about 350 employees in Belgium.
The extrusion plant in Raeren was established in 1960, later sold to Alcan, then taken over by Hydro in 1986. The plant serves primarily general extrusion customers.
Hydro’s aluminium building systems facility, in Herentals, was split from the Raeren operation in 1987.
Hydro delivers aluminium precision tubing products, largely to customers in the automotive industry, from its plant in Seneffe. Hydro established the plant in 1974.
