Hydro presents the entire value chain when producing aluminium. From refining bauxite and generating its own electrical power, to producing primary aluminium and manufacturing products such as casthouse products, building systems, extrusions, rolled products, and automotive and transport.

In Spain, Hydro is present with aluminium extrusion and rolled products operations, and as a supplier of building systems and aluminium metal products. The company has about 640 employees in the country.
The company’s aluminium building systems activities are based in Parets del Valles, near Barcelona, while its extrusion operation is located in La Roca. The extrusion plant, founded in 1963 and taken over by Hydro in 1991, serves primarily general extrusion customers.
In rolled products, Hydro’s site in Pamplona focuses on the production of aluminium foil. The plant was established in 1956, and joined Hydro in 2002 as part of the acquisition of VAW aluminium AG.
Hydro also recycles aluminium at its metal remelter in Azuqueca de Henares.
