In Mexico, Hydro is present with aluminium extrusion and precision tubing operations. The company has about 290 employees in the country.

The extrusion plant in Guaymas is operated as a sister plant to Hydro’s facility in Phoenix, which is located north of the US-Mexico border in Arizona.

Hydro’s aluminium precision tubing facility is located in Reynosa. The plant is the second – and most recent - greenfield site that Hydro has built in the 21st century. The first was opened in 2005 in Suzhou, China. Hydro began operations in Reynosa in the latter part of 2006.

The plant produces and delivers aluminium drawn tubing and tubular profiles primarily for automotive applications.
