Hydro presents the entire value chain when producing aluminium. From refining bauxite and generating its own electrical power, to producing primary aluminium and manufacturing products such as casthouse products, building systems, extrusions, rolled products, and automotive and transport.
In the US, Hydro is present with aluminium extrusion and precision tubing operations, and with the production of structural components for automotive applications. The company is also a supplier of rolled aluminium and other metal products.
Hydro has about 2,350 employees in the US.
Outside Europe, Hydro has more employees in the United States than in any other country. Most work in the company’s extrusion network, which includes more than a dozen plants. Hydro also services automotive customers from the US with structural products and precision tubing components and systems.
In addition, the company operates several aluminium remelting facilities, including plants in Kentucky and Texas.
