About the rights issue
Hydro announced on May 2, 2010 an agreement to take over the majority of Vale's aluminium business in Brazil. To partly finance the transaction, support the company’s investment grade rating and capacity to implement future projects Hydro is launching a rights offering to strengthen equity by NOK 10 billion. |

Extraordinary General Meeting
Hydro held an Extraordinary General Meeting on June 21, 2010. On the agenda were proposals to conduct a share capital increase by way of a rights offering, to issue new shares as part consideration for the acquisition of Vale's interests in certain aluminium businesses, and amendment to the company's Articles of Association. All the proposed resolutions were passed.
