Functional description: Combines the advantages of a crash box and a beam. The monoblock beam absorbs enough energy to give a very low repair cost for insurance repair test (AZT). This is achieved through the special swan-neck design.

Front bumper system, Renault Mégane II/Scénic, specification:

Functional description: The system is designed for energy absorption/car protection in crashes up to 16 km/h. The energy absorption of in total 13.1 kJ starts as the tube starts folding. The folding force is smoothed as the chamber folds in anti-phase. The system is also designed to assist passenger protection in high-speed crashes.
The bumper system contributes to make the car the best safety performer in its class. Voted car of the year for 2003, Mégane II has won the top score in EURO NCAP crash tests.
