Global commitment

Hydro takes responsibility

For us in Hydro, it is important to acknowledge that we have a responsibility that extends beyond the formal demands we face. We also have a responsibility to the society around us, to our employees, and to our surrounding environment. We have global commitments.

Hydro aims for an open dialogue

In all the places Hydro operates, we work to reduce any detrimental effects on the environment caused by our activities, to ensure respect for human rights, take responsibility as an employer, fight corruption, and enter into an open dialogue with society at large. We don't consider this simply a moral duty, but a necessary and natural part of the way we carry out our business operations.

The fine balance

A company is dependent on good financial results in order to be viable. However, this must not be at the expense of showing consideration for our surroundings and our employees. A viable company is able to balance good returns with the ambition of being a socially responsible actor.

A viable society

The world's increasing demand for energy poses many challenges and dilemmas. As a supplier of both energy and aluminium, Hydro strives to find solutions that fulfil our business objectives as well as our vision of creating a viable society.
