The World Business Council Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is a coalition of 150 international companies united by a shared commitment to sustainable development based on the three pillars of economic growth, ecological balance and social progress.
Through our involvement in the WBCSD, we are able to influence industry’s contribution to sustainable development by playing an active part in programs concerning:
- social responsibility
- innovation and technology
- climate
- energy and mobility
Hydro contributed actively to the WBCSD’s Sustainable Mobility Project, which was completed in 2004, and to the drawing up of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, an international standard for calculating and reporting on greenhouse gas emissions.
