Sustainable building concepts
In the area of sustainable building concepts, the market is supported with the latest know-how and technologies to develop and design aluminium facades according to the sustainability definition, including the total Life Cycle Assessment.
Intelligent facade concepts
The design of intelligent facade concepts needs to consider the complete building layout, including the facade design. Integrated planning with the architects and consultants can be performed, based on 6 years of research and project experience by our competence center in this field. Results show that, with this approach, up to 50 percent of today‘s energy consumption in commercial buildings could be saved.
Intelligent facade concepts consider natural ventilation, cooling, heat gain, sun protection as well as safety and fire measures. In addition, the automatized control of window and facade components is integrated into this research activity.
New materials
Research into new materials ranges from thermal break bar via gaskets to surface treatment of aluminium-based window, door and facade constructions.
