Hydro Formates establishes office and formate brine stock in USA
(Dec. 9, 2002) In response to the growing demand by the US oil industry for formate brines, Hydro Formates is establishing a US sales office and formate brine stock point. To provide service and customer support to the Western Hemisphere Hydro Formates Americas Inc. now will have dedicated staff in Houston working through a network of service companies.
The new Hydro Formates offices in Houston will be co-located with the Exporation and Production International business unit. In addition Hydro Formates have established a stock of 12,000 bbl of 13.1 ppg potassium formate brine at Stolthaven New Orleans in Braithwaite, LA. A 24/7 call-off service will be provided either by trucks, railcars, barge or vessels.
"Performance targets are being raised in aspects of the well construction process. Oil companies expect continuous improvements in hydrocarbon production, safety and environmental care," says Siv Howard, New Business Development Manager for Hydro Formates in the US.
"With the growing demand for formate brines in the Western Hemisphere, an establishment in Houston was the natural move, as this city holds the main headquarters of the oil and gas industry."
