First bumper beams produced at Alunord

(Feb. 3, 2002) Hydro Automotive Structures Alunord in France has produced its first bumper beams for the Renault X-84 project.

The Alunord plant in Louviers, France, is dedicated to making the support beams and delivering them to Renault assembly plants in France, Spain, Turkey and Brazil.

The first beam for the Renault X-84 project was produced on Thursday, January 31, on the M26 bumper line at the Alunord plant in Louviers, France, northwest of Paris.

The office part of the newly built manufacturing facility is nearly completed and the acceptance procedures for the entire installation are in progress.

Testing of the M26 bumper line itself has occurred in each separate cell. With the arrival of the X84 front tooling, testing of the line as a whole has started, combined with the final training of line personnel.
