Environmental system in place at Rockledge

PRECISION: Hydro Aluminum Rockledge manufactures precision-drawn aluminum tubing and customized aluminum extrusions, primarily for the automotive heat transfer industry.

(Jan. 9, 2002) Hydro Aluminum Rockledge in Florida has developed an Environmental Management System (EMS) to identify and control the environmental aspects of its operations.

"The EMS defines the roles, responsibilities, practices and procedures that we undertake in order to improve the way we interact with the environment," explains Health, Environment and Safety manager Jeff Kisner.

"Doing so, we commit ourselves to compliance with environmental requirements, prevention of pollution, and continual improvement of our environmental performance."

The Rockledge Environmental Policy states the principles that guide the EMS and provides a framework for environmental objectives.

"The EMS will allow us to conform to the requirements of the ISO 14001 Standard. Both internal and external auditors will routinely assess conformance to the standard."

On December 11, 2001, Hydro Aluminum Rockledge was registered to the ISO 14001 Standard. Performing the registration audit was TUV Essen.
