WBCSD features Hydro Aluminium

(Aug. 13, 2004) The World Business Council of Sustainable Development currently features Hydro Aluminium in its quarterly magazine, Sustain.

Sustain features the Hydro Aluminium story on page 19 of its 28-page issue. "A vision for mobility" is the WBCSD magazine's theme.

Johanna Maria Öster, project leader for sustainable development in Hydro Aluminium, has contributed the story to Sustain's editorial team. Entitled "Sustainability upstream and downstream," the article looks at the Sunndal project as well as at Hydro Aluminium's strong position as a supplier of lightweight solutions to the automotive industry.

As a leader, Hydro "influences vehicle development by using its expertise to capture the most out of aluminium's unique qualities."

She also writes about how the Sunndal project exemplifies Hydro's desire to turn environmental challenges into business opportunities, adding that "the project has placed emphasis on energy efficiency, as well as emissions reductions and workplace improvements."
