(May 28, 2004) Hydro Aluminium continues to develop its source businesses in Europe. Two exciting orders - one in Germany, the other in Italy - have put Hydro Building Systems in Blue Heaven...
In Germany, construction workers are building a new landmark along the main road from the Frankfurt Main train station to the "Frankfurter Messe" exhibition area. The building - a new hotel in the Radisson SAS chain - is being called Blue Heaven.
Hydro Building Systems is involved in the project, which has been planned by the London-based architect John Seifert. Blue Heaven will have a futuristic design, and will begin welcoming guests starting next summer.
Hydro Building Systems Germany will supply 90 metric tons of aluminium from its Wicona-brand family of extrusion-based building systems to the hotel project.
TECHNICAL: The façade system's design features are embodied in its technical properties. |

Meanwhile, in Italy, the Stramandinoli firm in Turin is proudly showing a sharply technological image in the design of its new headquarters. This image is visible not least in the building's façade - the Wicona WICTEC50 façade system delivered by Hydro Building Systems Italy.
The system has an attractive structure of uprights and crossbars, which form regular units of distinctly horizontal nature. These structural sections have helped provide the kind of creative stylist image that the customer required for the façade.
The system’s design features are further embodied in its technical properties, which range from high heat-insulation properties to the collection and drainage of water and/or condensation.
Wicona, Domal and Technal are the three major brands in Hydro Building Systems, the European market leader and part of Hydro Aluminium's Extrusion business sector.
