Technal in a new prestigious building in Abu Dhabi

(Nov. 19, 2004) Technal Middle East has signed a new contract for a major building project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The total contract includes 220 tons of aluminium.

TALL BUILDING: The Khalidya Towers comprises total aluminium works of 24,000 square meters.

Located in the most prestigious residential area of Abu Dhabi, La Corniche, this project comprises three adjacent 22- and 24-storey residential towers offering over 72,000 square metres of floor space. As well as apartments, they will include retail outlets, office space, health clubs and other amenities.

The project calls for 220 tonnes of aluminium, including key Technal products, such as 126 tonnes of Géode curtain wall, as Topaze casement frames and doors, and Onyx guardrails. Design-and-build products, such as concealed clamps for the existing Géode Horizontal line, will also feature prominently in this major project.

The final contract was signed in October 2004. Technal's successful involvement in the new Abu Dhabi Trade Centre & Residential Towers, built from 2001 to 2003, proved a decisive factor in the contract award.

The construction on the Khalidya Towers site will begin in March 2005, with completion scheduled for May 2006. Main building contractor is ACC.
