(Oct. 5, 2004) Hydro is debuting as an exhibitor at the Aachen Colloquium Automobile and Engine Technology congress from October 4-6. The company will join the more than 1,500 participants in one of the largest automotive and engine technology meetings in Europe.
"We feel it is quite right to be here now, since the trend toward premium diesel engines is requiring high-quality engine blocks and cylinder heads. That is where we have our competitive edge with proprietary, state-of-the-art technology," says Dirk Barschkett, head of Sales & Marketing in the Automotive sector's Castings business unit.
"And we are certainly here to promote the Hydro brand in connection with leading engine casting technology."
Among the exhibits at the 30-sqm stand are:
-
The GM V6 engine block, currently manufactured with Hydro's Core Package System CPS© Technology at our joint venture Castech in Saltillo, Mexico.
-
The twin cylinder heads for the new Ford/PSA B-Turbo Diesel engine. Developed and produced at Hydro Aluminium Mandl&Berger in Linz, Austria, using Hydro's proprietary Rotacast® process, which enables the cylinder head to withstand high loads of more than 180 bar.
