New sector leaders in Aluminium Products
(Feb. 14, 2006) Hendrik Brenig has been appointed Head of Sector with responsibility for the Automotive activities and Hans-Joachim Kock Head of Sector for Rolled Products, both in Hydro's Aluminium Products business area.
Hendrik Brenig (44) succeeds Dieter Braun who will remain member of the supevisory board of Hydro Aluminium Deutschland and also as president of the European Aluminium Association.
Brenig comes from a position as head of the Foil business in the rolled products sector. Brenig, a native German, holds a Ph.D from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, after studying Business Administration in Germany, Japan and the USA. He joined the aluminium industry in 1998 after a five year international career in Volkswagen AG as head of mergers and acquisitions in VAW. Brenig was the head of the VAW side of the integration team after the Hydro acquisition of the company in 2002.
Kock (51) succeeds Svein Richard Brantzæg, who has taken on the responsibility as head of the new Aluminium Products area and member of Hydro’s Corporate Management Board. Kock comes from a position as chief financial officer (CFO) in Rolled Products. Kock, a native German, holds a degree in Business Administration and Engineering from the University in Karlsruhe and has held various positions in VAW and Hydro since he joined the company in 1984, out of which 11 years managing aluminium units in Italy.
Brenig will take up his new position from March 1. Kock took over as head of Rolled Products on February 1.
