Price increase for 4th quarter aluminium strip deliveries
(June 12, 2006) Hydro is instituting a EUR 50 per tonne conversion price increase on aluminium strip for general engineering rolled products, effective immediately for deliveries from 1 October that are not covered by contractual agreements.
In addition, Hydro's Rolled Products sector announced that a EUR 50 per tonne premium will be instituted for deliveries out of the standard stock as of today.
All existing orders and binding contracts confirmed before 12 June will be honored.
The price increase is related to the increasing energy, transportation and labour costs in Europe, which represents Rolled Products’ key market for its general engineering applications. Transportation, consumer goods and shipbuilding are the main industries being affected by this increase as well as standard products for the European stockholders.
