Two new Hydro Board members proposed

 

(May 9, 2006) Lena Olving and Grete Faremo, senior vice presidents of Volvo Personvagnar and Microsoft respectively, have been proposed as new members of the Board of Norsk Hydro ASA.

At the Annual General Meeting of Norsk Hydro ASA on Tuesday evening it was announced that the nomination committee propose the re-election of Jan Reinås, Elisabeth Grieg, Håkan Mogren and Kurt Anker Nielsen as the shareholders’ representatives on the Board.

The nomination committee propose that Jan Reinås is re-elected as chairperson of the Board, and that Elisabeth Grieg takes over as deputy chairperson in succession to Borger Lenth, who is stepping down after 10 years’ service, the last five of them deputy chairperson.

The nomination committee propose that Lena Olving and Grete Faremo are elected as new members of the Board.

Lena Olving (49) is a chartered engineer and part of the corporate management team of Volvo Personvagnar.

Grete Faremo (50) is a lawyer who heads the legal and public relations function of Microsoft, region Western Europe.

Corporate assembly

The Annual General Meeting of Norsk Hydro ASA re-elected Svein Steen Thomassen, Siri Teigum, Aase Gudding Gresvig, Westye Høegh, Idar Kreutzer, Anne Merete Steensland, Sten-Arthur Sælør, Lars Tronsgaard, Karen Helene Ulltveit-Moe and Svein Aaser as shareholder representatives to the  corporate assembly, while the previous deputy members Anne-Margrethe Firing and Terje Venold were re-elected as new members.

Wolfgang Ruch and Erik Garaas were re-elected as deputy members, while Unni Steinsmo and Gunvor Ulstein were re-elected as new deputies.

The nomination committee also proposed that Svein Steen Thomassen is re-elected chairperson, and Siri Teigum deputy chairperson of the corporate assembly.
