Strong presence at 'ALUMINIUM 2006' in Germany
(Sep. 18, 2006) Hydro will once again be a major exhibitor at the world trade fair 'ALUMINIUM 2006' in Essen, Germany, 20-22 September.
For the fifth time Hydro is participating with an exhibition stand - site A20 - which can be found in Hall 3, next to the trade show's main entrance.
One of the fair's highlights this year is the European Aluminium Award, for which Hydro is one of the main sponsors. The award is on the initiative of the Dutch Aluminium Center, in cooperation with EAA, GDA and exhibition organizers. This year, the award will be presented in six categories, in order to cover the major fields of aluminium applications. Several Hydro customers have submitted entries to the consumer/end products and industrial/semi products categories.

Hydro is also participating in the official Aluminium Congress, which takes place 21-22 September in the Congress Center West. This year, Dr. Kai-Friedrich Kahrhausen from Hydro's aluminium research centre in Bonn will talk about "Development in Process Modelling of Al Sheet Production" and Carl Ludvig Kjelsen, senior vice president of the Rolled Products sector in Hydro's Aluminium Products business area, will lecture on "The European Aluminium Technology Platform (EATP)".
As part of its participation in the tradeshow, Hydro is offering an LME Academy Seminar to customers and business partners on 21 September, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and again from 13:00 p.m. to 15:00 p.m., in the Congress Center South. The seminar will give a short introduction to LME terminology and will focus on the need for hedging and risk management.
ALUMINIUM, in Essen, has become the most important world trade fair to key players in the aluminium industry. The tradeshow has developed into a central element of the international aluminium community.
A record number of 670 exhibitors from 39 countries have registered for the world fair and congress. The exhibition surface has continually grown and this year covers some 50,000 square meters in seven halls. More than 13,500 professionals from 40 countries visited the world fair and conference the last time it was held, in 2004. Representatives from a total of 79 countires will be in Essen for this year's event.
