Hydro to present latest findings at VTMS
(May 16, 2007) A new generation of "greener" mobile air conditioning systems is using carbon dioxide as refrigerant. Hydro is contributing to these innovative systems, and will present some of its most recent work in a technical paper at the Vehicle Thermal Management Systems (VTMS) Conference in Nottingham, UK.
Hydro will also welcome customers and guests to its stand at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham. Hydro staff representing its aluminium precision tubing and rolled products sectors will be present at VTMS, which is scheduled for May 20-24.
VTMS 8 will cover the latest research and technological advances in the field of heat transfer, passenger comfort and the management of all thermal systems within vehicles.

Principal engineer Arvid Espedal, who works in research and development for Hydro's aluminium extrusion competence center, will present the paper, which is entitled New extruded tube alloys for CO2 MAC applications.
Hydro presented some of its ambitions related to the new mobile air conditioning systems at the VTMS conference in 2003. Next week's presentation will confirm that the goals have been achieved, says Espedal.
His presentation will be on Monday, May 21.
The bi-annual VTMS conference is a joint venture between the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and US-based SAE International.
