Hydro's underlying income from continuing operations was NOK 968 million in the third quarter of 2008, down from NOK 1,335 million in the previous quarter and NOK 2,114 million in the same quarter last year, mainly due to seasonally lower demand in weakening markets and continued pressure on upstream input costs.

Hydro Aluminium Profiler has signed an agreement with the SafeRoad Group, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of products and systems for road safety. The agreement makes Hydro the main supplier of aluminium extrusions, mainly used in the manufacture of road signs and their accessories.

The investigation report into Hydro’s former oil operations in Libya and consultancy agreements relating to the company’s international oil and gas operations was submitted today to the Norwegian National Authority for Investigation and Prosecution of Economic and Environmental Crime (Økokrim). The investigation provides grounds for criticism of certain issues. The investigators’ report to the board was published today.
