Welded tubes

Tubes for all functions

Hydro's aluminium tubes cover all heat exchanger functions and are available in combinations, including wall thickness, to ensure corrosion resistance, mechanical properties and thermal performance. Clad aluminium tubes combine low melting point brazing alloys with a high-strength core, even corrosion-resistant inner cladding.

Key features

  • Low weight
  • Excellent conductor of heat and electricity
  • High corrosion resistance
  • High recycling value
  • High surface quality
  • High pressure resistance
  • Clad material

Product details

Core material clad with brazing alloys on inner and outer surfaces are available, allowing internal turbulators to be brazed to the tube wall. Higher strength and longer life corrosion-resistant alloys offer reduced costs and weight. Clad aluminium tube is produced in flat oval, rectangular and round profiles in material to suit Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB), Flux, Vacuum and the new HYBRAZ™/® pre-fluxed coated tube technology.

Application areas

  • Automotive and transport
  • Building and construction
  • HVACR
  • General engineering

Rolling

Aluminium can be processed
in a cold and hot condition
.

Aluminium is ductile. Foil can be rolled to only 0.007 mm thickness, but will still be completely impermeable and lets neither light, aroma nor taste substances in or out. The metal itself forms a protective oxide coating and is highly corrosion resistant. Different types of surface treatment can further improve these properties.
