CE Marking

From July 1st 2013, under the Construction Products Regulation 2011 (CPR, it has become a mandatory legal requirement for manufacturers to apply CE marking to any of their products which are covered by a harmonised European standard (hEN) or European Technical Assessment (ETA).

This is a major change as affixing CE marking under the existing Construction Products Directive was previously voluntary in the UK.

Hydro Aluminium Extrusion has been approved as a manufacturer in accordance with the requirements of BSI to hEN standard 15088, 'Aluminium and Aluminium alloys - Structural products for construction works”.

This follows a submission report, plant audit and sample testing by BSI.

“We now have the authority to supply CE marking as and when required by our customers,” says Trevor Pringle, Quality Manager for Hydro Aluminium Extrusion.

“BSI certification enables us to confirm that their products meet the specified requirements for structural use in construction applications.”
