The Hydro Academy is a 2 day-long technical seminar targeted towards product designers and engineers, but is applicable for anyone involved in aluminium extrusion and fabrication. Supporting the event were members of the Hydro sales team as well as key technical personnel.

The programme provides a unique opportunity for attendees to explore how extrusion can solve manufacturing challenges by liaising directly with experts in the field and incorporating presentations on die design and manufacture, aluminium properties and uses and fabrication techniques such as welding and machining.

The seminar concluded with product workshops which demonstrated innovative aluminium extrusions and applications. Some guests brought technical drawings to discuss personally with Hydro’s in-house technical team.

The extrusion process was comprehensively demonstrated the following day by an extensive tour of Hydro’s Bedwas plant in South Wales, including the anodising and fabrication facilities.
