Aluminium is know to have good corrosion resistance, which is important to secure a longer life of our customer’s applications.

Aluminium wire provides a cost efficient and effective solution, as conductivity per ton of wire is higher than in other wire material used today. Hydro Aluminium Precision Tubing has developed a specific alloy (1370) that provides an even better conductivity by reducing the wire section, while keeping the same power transfer performances. Aluminium wire is also available in the 6101 Alloy.

Furthermore, the choice of Aluminium provides our customer with the advantage of being able to use less polyamide isolation around the core wire. Hydro is able to supply large sections rods, from 240mm² to 1200mm² with tolerance in diameters ranging +/- 1%. Besides, Hydro innovates by offering cast, redrawn wire. This enhances our competitiveness in dimensions smaller than 20 mm of diameter.

For all the mentioned reasons, aluminium is today widely used in the market of underground and underwater power and signal transfer.
