Forged aluminium products
Hydro Aluminum Precision Tubing is a TS16949 and ISO-14001 certified supplier of aluminium forgings.

Hydro Aluminum Precision Tubing utilizes hot and cold impression die forging processes to produce finished parts and near net shapes for a wide variety of applications, including automotive products.
Typical applications :
- Automotive
• Compressor pistons and conrods
• Compressor fittings
• Drive Train: yokes and spiders
• Suspension components
- Non-Automotive
• HVAC compressor pistons, conrods and yokes
• Recreational vehicle components
• Prosthetic components
• Hinges and fasteners
What are the advantages of using forged aluminium components?
The combination of high strength with lightweight has led to a rapidly expanding range of applications for forged aluminium. Components forged from aluminium typically:
• weigh approximately 66% less than identical designs made from steel,
• have mechanical properties that far exceed those of cast aluminium (i.e. 10 – 25% greater tensile strength; 2 – 3 times the elongation),
• can be formed with ease into finished shapes that cannot be manufactured using an extrusion process,
• require little or no finish machining due to their precision,
• are less expensive than other non-ferrous alloys.
We can produce forged parts:
• from most aluminium alloys
(2-,3-,4-,6-, and 7000 series)
• in annual volumes ranging from 25,000 to millions
• with weights up to two (2) pounds and dimensions as large as 16” (406 mm) with tolerances as close as ± 0.002” (± 0.05 mm)
Auxiliary Processes and Capabilities:
• Trimming, piercing and coining
• Heat-treat and artificial age
• Surface finishing and deburring
• Gauging and inspection
• Fully functional metallurgical lab
