HXTRA™

HXTRA™ is based on a Flexible Manufacturing concept, which facilitates production of aluminium tube with specific attributes for diverse applications allowing you to select the properties you need for your application

HXTRA™ is available in two major formats with different applications:HXTRA™

HXTRA™ ML - Multi-Layer aluminium tube family

  • Corrosion resistance enhancement
  • Braze clad
  • Combinations of above features

HXTRA™ HS - High Strength aluminium tube

  • Heat treatable and non-heat treatable alloys


HXTRA™ ML presents enhanced tube performance by combining different aluminium alloys in a sandwich construction tube. It provides hence benefits of several aluminium alloys which are combined in one tube.


For example a high strength tube core can be combined with specialist alloys for:

  • Corrosion protection
  • Erosion protection
  • Brazing/Joining
  • Diffusion barriers to allow high strength alloys that are not normally brazeable to be brazed
  • Surface finishing and coating

OD 35 mm – 5 mm
Wall thickness 1.6 mm – 0.3 mm (subject to OD)

Options:
Smooth bore tube
Internal / external cladding to customer requirement
Supplied in coil or straight lengths

High tolerance:
Ovality +/- 0.05 mm for straight lengths, coiled tube subject to diameter
OD +/- 0.05 mm
ID =/- 0.05 mm
Eccentricity <0.05 mm
Wide range of mechanical strength dependant on alloy and hardness combination

Range of hardness:
H19 – H0 Dependant on alloy


HXTRA™ HS is available in alloys 5XXX, 6XXXHXTRA™ sketch

Size range:
OD 35 mm – 5 mm subject to wall thickness
Wall thickness 1.5 mm – 0.3 mm

Options:
Smooth bore tube
Coiled,  straight lengths or cut to length

High tolerance:
Ovality +/- 0.05 mm for straight lengths, coiled tube subject to diameter
OD +/- 0.05 mm
ID =/- 0.05 mm
Eccentricity <0.05 mm

Physical properties can be customised for end product : strength and formability.
