What are the differences in my manufacturing processes when using copper or aluminium?
Hydro Aluminium Precision Tubing: Using round aluminium tubes as a drop-in for copper tubes will not change the basic manufacturing processes commonly used in the HVACR industry. However, machine adjustments and tooling will often have to be changed due to the different mechanical properties of aluminium compared to copper.

How can I manufacture an all-aluminium mechanically expanded tube and fin heat exchanger?
Hydro Aluminium Precision Tubing: The process flow in manufacturing all-aluminium mechanically expanded tube and fin heat exchangers is identical to the manufacturing of traditional copper/aluminium heat exchangers. The same type of production equipment for hairpin and U-bend production may be used. Likewise, the expansion process is identical to the process used when manufacturing copper heat exchangers.

How can I manufacture an all-aluminium brazed heat exchangers?
Hydro Aluminium Precision Tubing: All-aluminium brazed heat exchangers are manufactured by controlled atmosphere brazing (CAB). Elevated temperature exposure in an inert atmosphere is then utilized to melt filler material and form metallic joints between tube and the fins instantaneously. This requires access to a CAB furnace or CAB capabilities.
