Visitors to the international HVACR exhibition will get their first looks at Hydro's new inner grooved welded tube, H-BIG, which stands for herringbone inner grooved tubes. It is a high-end alternative to precision drawn tube and straight/helical inner grooved tubes (Hygroove), and is a perfect drop-in solution for copper replacement in fin-and-tube heat exchangers. The grooves, following a herringbone-like pattern, are designed to offer very high heat exchange performance.

Hydro will show the aluminium tubing solutions together with a new zinc coating technology developed for round tubes. This additional coating offers extra protection against corrosion of the aluminium tubes, and increases the lifetime of the fin-and-tube heat exchangers.
Replacing copper tubes with aluminium in fin-and-tube heat exchangers offers advantages that include:
