Febrava, the largest trade fair for the HVAC&R industry in Latin America.Febrava, is held every second year. At this year's edition, arranged from September 20-23 at the Centro de Exposições Imigrante in São Paulo, organizers welcomed around 550 exhibitors and some 29,000 visitors. It was the second time Hydro participated in Febrava, but the first with its own dedicated stand. In 2009, the company supported its partner Vulkan at the fair.
Hydro's blue-and-white-colored 70 square meter booth was managed by its local aluminium tubing team from the company plant in nearby Itú.
One of the objectives of the company at the 2011 exhibition was to increase awareness of the beneficial use of aluminium connecting lines in the installation of split-unit systems. Hydro is one of the preferred aluminium suppliers globally for this type of application, and applications and development manager Elton Cuba held several 45-minute technical seminars each day, presenting relevant theoretical information about the light metal. The seminar was topped up by a live demo on how to cut, bend, flange and connect aluminium tubes.
"With almost 500 people attending, and positive feedback from these visitors, we consider the seminars a great success," says Cuba.
Sales engineer Samer Sammour adds that "the seminars, along with the presentation of our products and solutions, helped us position the Hydro brand within the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration market."
South America - and Brazil in particular - represents a growing part of the company's global aluminium tubing business. Consequently, Hydro is already planning to take part in the next Febrava trade fair in 2013.
