With aluminium, Hydro offers the solar market completely new possibilities. The following designs are proposed with a fine-selected list of aluminium products: harp absorbers, meander absorbers and MPE absorbers.

| Harp absorber |
Whether producing single harp absorbers or double harp absorbers, aluminium can easily substitute currently used tube materials. The riser tubes may be brazed to the manifold tubes by hand, or with an automatic brazing machine. For larger production volumes, an automated solution is highly recommended and may due to the level of control even improve your production efficiency thanks to the low working temperature of aluminium brazing. You may see the automatic brazing process in a short film on our page about brazing.

Whether producing meander absorbers with manifolds or without manifolds, aluminium is suitable for use in these absorbers. Aluminium tubes are easy to bend and have slightly thicker walls than copper tubes in order to guarantee a maximum product quality and performance.

| MPE absorber |
Introducing aluminium tubing in absorbers offers new design solutions that have never been seen in solar thermal heating before.
One such new design, with MPE tubes coated directly on the surface, allows for thinner absorbers than ever before to be produced. Also, no additional sheet is needed and the welding process can be completely abandoned.
Naturally, the short distance the heat has to travel to the heat exchange fluid, makes this an exceptionally efficient absorber design. Customer measurements confirm that a collector with an MPE absorber produces appr. 8% more energy than a collector with an absorber in a traditional tube and plate design.
