Aluminium fittings

With aluminium fittings, most of the collector circuit can be in aluminium and thereby provide a maximum saving to the total cost of a solar thermal system.

When connecting aluminium tubes, one should use fittings in stainless steel or aluminium. Stainless steel fittings are ideal to use when connecting aluminium tubes with other tubes, or solar stations, in copper or brass, as long as the connection is protected and kept dry. When connecting aluminium tubes to each other, one should ideally use aluminium fittings in order to further optimise the cost savings. There are today suitable aluminium fittings, both for brazing and with mechanical connections, which can be used in solar thermal systems. With these fittings, it is possible to have most of the collector circuit - absorber tubes, connection lines, and fittings - in aluminium. This total aluminium solution, brings a significant saving potential to the total cost of a solar thermal system.

Hydro does not produce fittings, but as a total solution provider, you are welcome to contact us for a reference list of companies which produce these products.
