When considering green products, their entire life cycle needs to be considered in order to conclude that they are environmentally friendly. Aluminium is 100% recyclable and only requires 5% of the initial production energy to reuse it. Therefore, 75% of all aluminium ever produced is still in use today.

Switching from copper tubes to aluminium tubes also makes recycling easier for producers who already use aluminium absorber sheets. With an all aluminium absorber, copper tubes do not need to be separated from the aluminium sheet for recycling. Instead the entire absorber can be recycled in one and the same process.

Since aluminium melts at around 660°C, significantly less energy is required to recycle aluminium compared to most other metals.
