Our North America network consists of casthouse/remelt, extrusion, drawn tubing, fabrication, finishing and contract manufacturing facilities that span from the East Coast to Mexico. Each plant has unique capabilities to best serve its core customers, but common systems and procedures allow for easy transfer of work to accommodate fluctuations in demand or unique production requirements. And, access to Hydro’s global network of extrusion facilities and Technology Centers ensures that the latest technology and best practices are available to all North American plants.

We have six strategically located extrusion plants with presses ranging in size from 7" to 10". All plants provide basic fabrication such as sawing, drilling, shearing; more complex operations like stretch forming, press bending, and CNC machining; and assembly services for small- and large-scale components.

Two plants are dedicated contract manufacturing facilities which offer an array of engineering, process design, and program management services including dedicated manufacturing cells, JIT and line-sequencing, product and process engineering, quick turnaround prototyping, and component sourcing.

Three extrusion facilities have adjacent casthouses to serve the needs of extrusion customers and facilitate the development of specialty alloys which can enhance product performance. Our casthouses use proprietary remelt technology to produce primary grade billet with high recycled content (more than 70%), a key component for the production of “green” products.
