LINTHICUM, Md. — Oct 23, 2009 — Hydro’s Extrusion Americas unit has published an updated third edition of its popular North American Extrusion Design Manual. For the first time the guide includes third-party resource materials on applications and product engineering. Now available on interactive CD, the manual is easier to use and more comprehensive than ever.
The manual is a practical engineering and application guide to aluminum extrusions that gives designers, engineers and product developers technical insights and guidelines take advantage of extruded aluminum’s performance characteristics in new and creative ways.
Video clips provide clear instruction on key processes, in-depth details give insights based on actual case studies and there are Web links to additional technical information.
“By optimizing assembly with extruded aluminum, many products can be manufactured more cost effectively,” said Lynn Brown, senior VP sales and marketing for Hydro Aluminum North American. “With creative extrusion designs, companies can speed product development or improve existing products. They can benefit from extruded aluminum’s better quality, strength and durability in applications where designers simply never considered it a viable material before.”
The manual includes information on:
