Hydro Aluminium Precision Tubing is now offering customers a complete range of optimized aluminium tubes for heat exchangers, air-conditioning lines and internal heat exchangers for use in R744-based mobile air-conditioning and commercial refrigeration systems.

Hydro’s aluminium tubes and tube solutions for mobile and stationary applications feature high heat transfer capability, flexibility, high corrosion and pressure resistance, and at low weight. Available in customized dimensions, the aluminium tubes and solutions are therefore the optimal choice for heat exchangers, such as R744 – or, carbon dioxide-based - gas coolers and evaporators, internal heat exchangers, and connection lines.

The range covered by Hydro allows many possible uses in automotive and non-automotive applications.

Solutions for stationary, mobile applications
For the commercial refrigeration sector, Hydro has designed and validated several aluminium drawn tubes, clad-welded tubes for headers and micro and macro multi-port extrusions.

The tubes are available in level-wound coils and in straight lengths within a large selection of specific alloys. In addition, the aluminium alloy is formable, bendable, and corrosion resistant for simple and reliable connections and installation.

In the area of mobile air-conditioning systems, Hydro is prepared for the future following the VDA announcement in Germany. In this area, the company is offering not only precision drawn tubes, multi-port extrusions and welded tubes, but also revolutionary products like the Piflex and CO2AX, with specific R744 purpose use.

Piflex is a unique concept tube able to absorb large torsional movements, to be flexible under high pressures, narrow bending radii and other significant advantages.

CO2AX is an internal heat exchanger for R744 A/C Systems. It represents a cost-efficient compromise between weight, performance, pressure drop, burst pressure and extrudability.
