Office furniture

EFG, European Furniture Group, is one of Europes largest suppliers of office furniture. Recently the company launched a series of height adjustable desks where both design and technology have been stretched to the limit not least thanks to aluminium extru
The EFG Nostra Niveau height adjustable desk designed by Danish designer Susse Fischer with the focus as much on advanced design as on function, flexibility and ergonomics. The desks are not fitted with a crossbeam which means there is plenty of legroom.

Design adds value

The aim with the new range of desks - EFG Nostra Niveau height adjustable desk - was not only to create a functionally and ergonomically optimal product but also to convey a total design experience. The EFG Nostra Niveau has been designed by the famous Danish designer Susse Fischer. Based on a specification that includes high design value and optimal function, flexibility and freedom of movement, a range of desks has been created that is for the most part unique.

The desks are not fitted with a crossbeam which means there is plenty of legroom. The construction of the legs, with their fluted pillars, gives the desk a clear character. The pillars are made of aluminium extrusions and the grooves are even practical as they allow the adjustable sideways fastening of the horizontal support legs.

The aluminium pillars enclose two telescopic steel pipes and the motor is mounted in the upper part of the pillar. The extrusions are designed for strength and torsional stability. The desk is unusually stable – despite the lack of a crossbeam that is usual on a conventional desk.

At the limit of the possible
The shape of the pillars is slightly conical which created a major technical challenge. This technical solution is the result of extensive development work. A very exacting and demanding design means that advanced machining is required to give the extrusion the required shape, appearance and tolerances even in the conical area.

The EFG Nostra Niveau is available both as a desk and a conference table as well as the established fixed desk.
