Totenprodukter of Gjøvik, Norway specialises in the development and manufacture of technical aids for the disabled and elderly. The use of aluminium extrusions has made many of the products lighter, stronger and more stable.
The emphasis on product development has resulted in new products of great potential.
The Topro’s range includes rollators, supports trolleys, ramps for wheeled aids or walking, copings and support grips. A number of new products have been developed during the last few years where a new generation of rollators, a walker and a foldable car ramp are examples of successful products that have aroused considerable interest. Completely new is the Taurus walker that has been produced as a result of demand from the German market.
The specification for the new product was devised with the help of physiotherapists, experts, agents and designers.
The traditional frame with double sidebars has been replaced by a single height adjustable stanchion that can be controlled manually, hydraulically or electrically. The design is not only highly practical, it is also elegant. The central stanchion means that the walker is easily adjustable and allows ward staff easy access to support and help the patient. The central stanchion consists of two telescopic aluminium extrusions where the demands for strength and stability are high. The inner stanchion is naturally anodised and the outer has a stylish grey lacquered finish, a colour combination that gives the Taurus a strong image.
