Swedish extrusion activities merges into one!

Hydro Aluminium Profiler AB, Sweden, has moved its facilities for administration, sales and machining of aluminium extrusions from Åseda to the Hydro unit in Vetlanda. The new rebuilt and expanded unit was officially opened Oct 25 in the presence of 120 invited guests representing customers, staff, suppliers and colleagues. In connection with the move both companies have been united to one legal unit under the name Hydro Aluminium Profiler AB.

From Vetlanda Hydro administers the Swedish extrusion sales activities as well as machining assignments for customers in several segments from all over the country. The factory is one of Sweden´s most advanced and modern of it´s kind. It specializes in advanced milling of aluminium components based on CNC machines and robotized production lines for customers within segments like transport and telecom.

- To unite the Swedish extrusion activities under one roof means an extension of our services to the market and our customers when it comes to technical support, product development and also an extension of our machining capacities to even more market segments, says Gunnar Svensson, General Manager for Hydro Aluminium Profiler AB.

At the opening visitors were guided through the plant and the arrangement ended with dinner and much appreciated entertainment performed by one of Sweden´s leading Eurovision Song Contest artists Magnus Bäcklund with his band Soul Mates.

The day began with full-house aluminium seminar in the companies new conference facility, with many customers representing most market segments serviced by Hydro in Sweden. The lectures focused on alloy properties, extrusion design & production as well as machining- and surface treatment methods.

The event was very much appreciated by customers for the mix of a professional business-day ending with an official opening and the opportunity to socialize.
