Extrusion is the introduction of aluminium into a container and forcing it at high pressure and temperature through the profiled opening of a die.

Despite almost limitless ability to take on complex shapes, this extruded section has to follow some construction rules.

The following criteria have to be taken into consideration to gain the maximum benefit from aluminium extrusion:
