This year's winners are ...
(December 2, 2008) After two long months of waiting, the Extrusion Eurasia Innovation Competition winners have been chosen, and are now officially ready for announcing!

As in past years, the sector's innovation competition has three categories: Products, Processes, and Social.
Congratulations to the following winners:
PRODUCTS
1st place - Aluminio Building, Hydro Aluminium Extrusion Spain, La Roca, team members: Virginia Ortigues and Mario Monroy, external partner: Permansteelisa España.
2nd place - Coloric Taps, Hydro Aluminium Profiler AB (Sweden), team members: Lars Mellqvist and external partner: Villeroy & Boch Gustavsberg AB, Sweden.
3rd place - Heat Exchanger Condenser, Hydro Alluminio Ornago, team members: Giorgio Cagliani and Silvia Beretta, external partner: Riello S.p.A.
PROCESSES
1st place - High Performance Die Technology: Kjeld dies and Hanging Kjeld dies, team members: Kjeld Andersen (HA Tønder), Willy Gampe (EdEx), and Anders Kindlihagen (ECC).
2nd place - Calculation OPTIMEX, Hydro Aluminium Nenzing/Bellenberg, team members: Gerhard Immler and Lorenz Zech.
3rd place - Chip Blower, Hydro Aluminium Extrusion Deutschland Rackwitz, owner: Jürgen Buhl.
SOCIAL
1st place - Water is a planet resource, don't waste it, Hydro Alluminio Ornago, team members: Walter Lardini and Claudio Scaccabarozzi.
Each of the first-prize winners will be invited to the Extrusion Eurasia MD meeting in January to receive their trophy and prize money in a special awards ceremony.
Thanks to all those units who sent in a submission. There were many excellent entries and the jury had a tough time narrowing down the winners to these seven.
