Our research and development effort is oriented towards Precision Tubing’s core activities, and serves to continuously improve products and manufacturing processes, as well as to develop innovative technologies and new applications. We work to secure the continued progress of aluminium as a competitive and environmentally sound material. As part of a vertically integrated aluminium company, we have a deep knowledge of the material, its alloys and the manufacturing methods used to transform these into a broad range of products.

This experience enables us to offer our customers leading edge solutions for stronger, more durable and higher performance thermal solutions. Ultimately, our goal is to make your products, and your business, flow as effectively as the systems they drive.

Precision Tubing’s global development center have helped drive many of our innovations, providing support in material technology, joining, brazing, and process technology, tube component and application design and prototyping.


Precision Tubing Technology Center is the dedicated R&D unit devoted to sector Precision Tubing. Focus in the R&D work is on Product, Alloy and Coating and Process development, and our highly skilled researchers are located in Norway (Karmøy and Oslo) as well as in Denmark (Løgumkloster), France and US. Our R&D targets are focused on long term developments giving short term results, and continuous support to our global network of plants, in Europe, North America, South America and Asia. Our Product focus is target towards providing solutions to the Automotive industry as well as the HVAC&R industry(Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration), including Solar Thermal. We are engaged in partnerships with a wide variety of customers. Our links with major technical institutes throughout the world allow access to groundbreaking new R&D. Combining this knowledge with the know-how of trained and experienced personnel, and modern well-equipped laboratory facilities, enables us to provide continuous key customer support.
