Location:

• The field is situated 120 kilometres north west of the Møre coast, and processing will take place at Nyhamna on the west coast of Norway. The gas will be exported to Easington on the east coast of England trough a 1200 kilometer long export-pipeline.   

Production start:

• October 2007

Reservoir:

• The field was discovered by Hydro in 1997. The reservoir is around 40 kilometres long and eight kilometres wide, approximately 3000 metres below the surface of the sea

Sea depth:

• 800 to 1100 metres

Wells:

• 24 subsea wells in four seabed templates

Production capacity

• Condensate: 6000 to 8500 m³ per day
• Gas: 70 million Sm³ per day

Total investments:

• The total investment cost for the Ormen Lange project development, is estimated at NOK approx. 66 billion (2003) – approx. 46.5 billion NOK for the field development and approx. 19.5 billion NOK for the transport system. The major part of the investments will take place in 2005 and 2006.
