For a military rapid-deploy tent, Hydro created an extrusion-based component that replaced a flat-stamped aluminum design, reducing welds from eight to two.
The X-shaped extrusion is cut, machined and drilled. A separate U-shaped extrusion is drilled, then welded in place.
The part is powder coated and a threaded screw receiver is inserted.
The finished component is attached to extruded, painted legs. It is delivered to the customer fully assembled with better structural integrity at a lower cost.
