Hydro’s holiday contribution to UNICEF

As a partner of UNICEF Norway, this year’s holiday contribution from all Hydro employees will support UNICEF’s work with education and skills development for children and adolescents.

“UNICEF’s work around the world to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfill their potential is of huge importance. This year it is, maybe more than ever, important to support and show care for the most vulnerable around us,” says President & CEO Hilde Merete Aasheim.

Hydro entered a new partnership with UNICEF, as a signature partner of UNICEF Norway earlier this year. Hydro’s corporate social responsibility strategy of focusing on education and skills development is aligned with several areas of UNICEF’s core competencies. In April, Hydro also donated an additional NOK 500,000 to UNICEF’s emergency fund, Humanitarian Action for Children (HAC).

“Hydro’s gift this holiday season from all Hydro employees is to contribute NOK 500,000 of the Hydro donations towards the partnership with UNICEF Norway. If we can contribute to a better society for our children, it will also strengthen the communities we are part of and society at large,” Aasheim says.
