The three-day exhibition will start on June 8th at the New Munich Trade Fair Center in Germany.

This is the third consecutive year that Hydro has participated in Intersolar. This year, the company plans to double the size of the stand, in order to reflect the trust that customers place in aluminum as a material and in Hydro as a supplier of increasingly complex applications.

Hydro has several “first” in the field of solar energy, including:

• Launch of HYLIFE solar aluminum alloy on demand
• Launch of HybridAl aluminum strips for concentrated solar energy systems
• Launch of HySelect coating for solar thermal energy systems
• First orders for aluminum tubes for solar collectors, in Germany and Poland

Hydro supplies solar products to local and global customers worldwide, with customers in more than 20 countries in Europe alone.

Gaining ground

Aluminum has been gaining ground as the preferred material in the solar industry. Its benefits are light weight, corrosion resistant, competitive prices and efficient installation capacity. In addition, it is a good thermal and electrical conductor, reflects sunlight and is fully recyclable.

Hydro supplies all three major segments of the solar industry, starting with custom alloys, strip material, tubes and other extruded and semi-finished products.

Our competence includes construction systems, which are completely produced and ready for installation in CSP applications, and solar energy systems with integrated construction, which are indispensable for structures with zero energy consumption.

Hydro has already been involved in some of the largest solar energy projects in the world, including its presence in projects such as the first hybrid concentrated solar energy / fossil fuel plant, recently completed in Florida.
