The pipeline was not operating at the time, but contained residual volume of caustic soda diluted in water. After the collision, part of this solution flowed to the Pará River. The Emergency Assistance Plan - PAE was immediately activated to start the works of mitigation and environmental monitoring.

At the time, one of the truck's crew members had contact with the chemical material. The neutralization procedure was carried out immediately and effectively. After medical evaluation, the professional was released and is doing well.

The environmental authorities of the state of Pará and the municipality of Barcarena were informed and were on site for inspections this Thursday, September 5th.
